Gamma Phi Beta is a women's organization that embodies the most prominent type of womanhood. We believe in the importance of scholarship, individuality, social interaction, and dedication of service to the community and humanity. Moreover, we believe in an allegiance to one another - we are a sisterhood full of best friends, and we pride ourselves in our devotion and respect for each other.
Why Choose Gamma Phi?
Sororities offer a wonderful opportunity to excell in scholarship, citizenship, and leadership, but Gamma Phi Beta provides that and so much more:
- Socials offer a great way to get to know more students at UCSB
- Academic support from sisters in the same classes and with similar majors in small and large groups. We offer a study buddy program that matches older and younger members.
- We participate in all philanthropic events hosted by the fraternities and other sororities. It is a great opportunity to contribute your athletic abilities or your show your spirited pride.
- Our annual formals, Initiation Ball and Crescent Ball, as well as our two themed Date Parties provide a great opportunity to get dressed up and have fun in a sophisticated environment.
- Great networking opportunities for future jobs, including supportive alumnae networks and lifelong bonds with your sisters
- Wonderful opportunities for community service, including involvement with Campfire USA, the Isla Vista Youth Project, CALM, and the Dog Adoption and Welfare Group.
- With over 100 collegiate members, Gamma Phi is one of the largest sororities on campus
- An amazing chapter house that is close to campus, near all the best restaurants in Isla Vista, holds 54 residents in spacious living arrangements, and has a beautiful courtyard!

Q: How many members currently belong to the UC Santa Barbara chapter of
Gamma Phi Beta?
A: The Delta Psi chapter of Gamma Phi Beta currently has over 100 collegiate
members. 54 of these members live in the chapter house, while others live in
the dormitories, apartments, or houses.
Q: What does Gamma Phi Beta have to offer?
A: Gamma Phi Beta offers a network of sisters that will be there to make
your transition into college easier. They will mentor you in your classes,
show you ways to get involved in campus, and provide opportunities for
volunteer and philanthropic events and organized social activities.
Recommendations-Any Gamma Phi Beta Alumna may write a recommendation for a
potential new member participating in Recruitment. Although recommendations
are not required to go through Recruitment, current Gamma Phi members use
these recommendations as an opportunity to get to know these women before
they arrive for Recruitment.
