Scholarship

Who knew studying could be so fun? As one of our core values, Learning is especially important to the lovely ladies of Gamma Phi Beta. We take our scholarship program very seriously, and it shows in our consistent academic success. For the second Spring quarter in a row, our New Member class has walked away with the number one GPA out of all sorority new member classes - last Spring, it was the Alpha Xis with an amazing 3.492, and this Spring it's the Alpha Pis with a spectacular 3.368 overall average. Last March, Gamma Phi received the award for Most Improved Scholarship at the 2006 Greek Awards, and we continue to reach and surpass the goals we set for our house. During the '05-'06 school year, our GPA was consistently ranked in the top five out of all UCSB sororities, and we finished out the academic year with a fantastic 3.204 average. Grades and academics are very important to the ladies of Gamma Phi Beta, but fun is also a must! We work hard and we play hard, so we have weekly study hours with our sisters to keep our spirits and our GPAs soaring. During the stress of finals week we also hold Fun Study Hours, which includes food, prizes, and the support of our G-phi family. Each Spring, Gamma Phi Beta hosts a Professor Banquet to honor the professors and teaching assistants that have contributed so much to our academic careers. Nearly every university department is represented at the Banquet, from History to Chemistry, which is a testament to the diversity of our sisters and the majors they have chosen.
